Farmhand – Irrigated Cropping Property (Coleambally, NSW)

We are seeking a capable and motivated Farmhand to join a progressive irrigated cropping operation located in Coleambally, NSW. This highly productive farm grows popcorn, cotton, seed canola, Durum wheat and cattle.  This role suits someone with rural industry background who enjoys hands-on farm work and operating modern machinery in a team-focused environment.


About the Role

You will be involved in all aspects of irrigated cropping operations, working closely with the Farm Manager and team to deliver high-quality production outcomes. The role includes machinery operation, irrigation management, crop monitoring, and general farm maintenance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Operate tractors, harvesters, spray rigs, and other modern farm machinery

  • Assist with irrigation scheduling, and water management

  • Support planting, spraying, fertilising, and harvest programs

  • Undertake routine machinery servicing and basic mechanical repairs

  • General property maintenance, sheds, and infrastructure work

  • Follow WHS policies and safe work procedures


Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience on a dryland or irrigated cropping farm

  • Confident machinery operator with strong practical skills

  • Understanding of irrigation systems (channels, pumps & automation)

  • Mechanical aptitude highly regarded

  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work independently

  • Driver’s licence essential; HR/HC licence or machinery tickets an advantage

  • Computer literacy and the ability to acquire specialist software knowledge (desirable)
